Food: Warm walnut, banana and oat breads, strawberries, pears, plums and preserves.

Beverage: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, coffee – but can be enjoyed with Champagne (Blanc de Blancs) or coffee

Crème Fraiche

Tasting Notes

Look: Thick white, sometimes ivory cream colour, whipped and creamy folds

Touch: Wet and rich and velvety texture

Smell: Butterfat, sour cream and slight nuttiness

Taste: A mixture of sweet, slightly sour and tangy cream.

It is similar to whipped cream but not as sugary and not as acidic as sour cream. It is decadent and rich.

Lovers

Food: Fresh strawberries, plums, pears and a sprinkle of raw sugar or dribble on top of crepes and pancakes or add to a bowl of homemade granola… anything goes for Crème Fraiche.

Beverage: Champagne (Blanc de Blancs) or coffee.
